On-demand webinar: How to organize co-creation in the ROV Market

Is there value in co-creation? In this webinar, we are proud to have discovered more about co-creation with four experts from Allseas, Advisetech, Fugro and IMCA. Which conclusions can we make? Customers have to realise they are not the experts on the scope they want to outsource. It is vital for any project regarding complex technology; the closer the collaboration should be, the more critical co-creation is. Work together in the early stage of the process. If possible, work together in the innovation phase and not only in the engineering phase. Collaborate to create a final solution that optimises your systems. We shouldn’t enter the discussion with tunnel vision. We should be open to new ideas, new technologies, and solutions to our challenges.

Join these four experts in the field of co-creation:

  • Andy Rose, Technical Advisor at IMCA, Remote Systems & ROV Division
  • Jelmer de Winter, ROV Production Center Manager at Fugro
  • Michael Malling, Advisor at Advisetech
  • Petros Tsigkourakos, Senior R&D Engineer at Allseas
And the host, Matthieu Scheffers, Business Development & Sales Manager at DeRegt, as they discuss how relationship management and partnerships work from experiences, with amazing examples.

Three top takeaways:

Takeaway 1: The real importance of co-creation

This sits in the complexity of the technology. When the technology becomes more complex, it is vital to collaborate. The old design sets of the supplier are not always working anymore for your current situation. It would help if you looked at it from a systems perspective. Every change can affect every other part of the system—the complexity and evolvement of new technology increases, which is also reflected in offshore operations' success. Talk with the supplier; they know the possibilities and the latest technologies to solve your challenge.

Takeaway 2: Environmental challenges

We need to have a good look at the lifecycle of products, technologies, updates and the disposal of the product itself. Look at the environment and the environmental problems which might occur. Have close conversations which keep the environment in mind. Co-creation collaboration is essential at any point of the lifecycle.

Takeaway 3: Technology we don't understand

Is it challenging to accept technology that we don't understand? Getting the client to open his mind and see the possibilities is hard. It is about getting into it with a bit of an open mind. It is essential to look at the future. Make good agreements, feasibility study, cost analysis, vessels, technical department, and operational department. Then you can sell this to the customer. It is always a challenge to sell this process.
